2nd Line Support Analyst, £30,000, Romsey

The purpose of this job:

Due to internal progression, our growing client is looking for a 2nd Line Support Analyst to join their corporate services team. As 2nd Line Support Analyst, you will play an integral part in providing resilient technical support on a busy helpdesk generating over 1500 tickets per month.

Your 2nd Line Support Analyst responsibilities will include:

  • Log calls using the Help Desk software
  • Management of personal call queue, ensuring calls are closed in a timely fashion
  • Provide updates and ensure communication with the user is maintained.
  • Escalation of calls to the IT Operations team or Management as necessary
  • User Administration within the following environments: Active Directory (On Prem and Azure), Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, ExtremeCloud, and RSA
  • Perform software builds/rebuild on laptops and desktops as required
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software faults with IT equipment
  • Ensuring that documentation is kept up to date with current procedures and processes

Knowledge & skills:

  • Previous Service Desk experience
  • Windows (desktop and server) operating systems technical skills – including build and issue resolution
  • Linux technical skills – including build and issue resolution
  • Ability to support Windows AD, Azure AD, Office 365, Exchange, M365 (including SharePoint, Teams etc)
  • Understanding of networking
  • Clear and approachable communication skills
  • Good customer service skills

Purpose of Role:

As Vetting Officer you’ll be working with the Vetting Manager to support the fundamental role of security and vetting within a world-class technology and engineering business. Providing a professional experience, you will ensure operational excellence within the vetting administration process.

As Vetting Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting all types of Security Vetting
  • Enforcing Secure Vetting life cycle in line with HMG/Authority client led processes
  • Delivering first class Security Clearance administration, verifying all clearances
  • Being responsible for in-housing training regarding new staff and Vetting systems
  • Monitoring all existing clearance expiries and requests whilst maintaining knowledge of all Security Policy framework
  • Processing Vetting applications for employees, contractors and associates
  • Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, providing full personnel security

As Vetting Officer your knowledge & skills will include:

  • Previous experience with UKSV, Government Protectively Marked Material and other government department vetting applications
  • Previous expertise within a Personnel Security Vetting Role and administering the UK vetting process
  • An ability to work under pressure, keeping to tight deadlines and maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to negotiate
