Purpose of the role

As an CAD Technician, you will perform a variety of design/drafting activities and process administration for the Design function. In particular to support the Design Engineer and Senior Design Engineer in achieving departmental objectives.

As a CAD Technician, your responsibilities will include

  • Develop concepts through to production for new products and/or components.
  • Assess Engineering Change Notes and were deemed necessary, develop new concepts and/or deliver design changes to existing products in response.
  • Revise and update existing drawings for products and/or components to ensure they accurately reflect design changes.
  • Ensure design documentation is completed consistently and in accordance with training and procedures and is fully checked and signed off prior to issue.
  • Work in collaboration with the Design team to support new product idea generation, including but not limited to, carrying out materials and manufacturing research and sourcing potential new suppliers.
  • Provide support and information for the Production Engineer to ensure that BOM accuracy is maintained within the ERP system.
  • Provide support for Production Engineering, Production & Sales with respect to design related issues.

As a CAD Technician, you will have

  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Experience with sheet metal or light fabrication would  be advantageous.
  • High level of care and attention to detail – self-motivated, proactive and dedicated.
  • Able to work in a small team and be keen to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Maintain and enhance product build documentation and test specifications.
