Manual Machinist | Poole | £18.50ph (depending on experience)
Overview
Are you a skilled and experienced manual machinist looking for your next challenge? Rubicon People Partnership’s client are currently recruiting for a talented individual to join their team within the fitting/assembly department.
As a manual machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, precision-engineered components, often for the aerospace, defence, or similar industries.

Responsibilities
As a manual machinist, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating manual lathes and mills.
- Inspecting work using bore comparators, bore mics, verniers, callipers, and air gauges to ensure accuracy within tight tolerances.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Performing pressure testing of assembled components to ensure integrity and performance.
- Using fitting tools such as presses and hand tools for assembly task.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate for this manual machinist role MUST have:
- Extensive experience with manual lathes and mills, ideally including XYZ machines.
- Experience working with various material grades and selecting appropriate tools for each.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow planning requirements.
- Experience with pressure testing is a plus, though training will be provided.
