In December 2008 we invited a number of agencies to tender for the provision of our temporary labour. We had received an adequate, but not always good, service from our previous supplier and felt all the agencies that responded to tender were likely to be much the same. We chose Rubicon People because of their food industry experience, off-site inductions and we felt their presentation showed a lot of enthusiasm for the role of an agency in supporting their clients. I am pleased to say our choice has proved to be well made. We use temporary workers for peak periods and special projects. Rubicon's understanding of the calibre of staff we need to meet deadlines and KPI's has been second to none and I think this is a combination of their dedicated team and their willingness to go above and beyond for their clients and to realise how important it is to also look after their temporary workers properly. One particular feature, which has benefitted us is Rubicon's off-site inductions. Initially, I was not convinced that the inductions could save us time spent with temps on day one, however, Rubicon gained a full understanding of our requirements and temps arrive on-site understanding our culture, health and safety and with an insight into the roles they will perform – this has not only cut our time in briefing temps but has reduced the fall-out rate because people understand what the job will be like before they arrive. Although we were initially a little concerned about the location of Rubicon's office, the inductions, together with the fact that they are constantly advertising using local mediums and are prepared to meet temps locally has ensured that we have the people we need for the duration of the project. I have worked at the brewery for many years and have used various agencies, I can honestly say that Rubicon People stand out from the crowd and their service is not just good, it's very impressive."
