The "Other" Me
Previous working life:
Like many 18 year olds who don’t know what they want to do after A levels (I didn’t want to go to Uni) I went off travelling! When I came back I was still none the wiser so worked at a hotel as Food and Beverage Manager for Salterns Harbourside Hotel, where I worked part-time since I was 14.
Personality type: (From the ColourWorks / Insights model)
From The Colour Works (Insights) Personality Profile here is Jessica's "Personal Style" introduction:
Jessica is curious for new ideas and insights. Her obvious charm and enthusiasm tends to make her popular with friends and colleagues alike. She may have had personal experience of the view that worthwhile success comes only after suffering significant misfortune. Quick to see the possibilities of new ideas and projects, Jessica is outstanding at initiating these and
persuading people to support her. Jessica is interested both in possibilities beyond what is already obvious and in the ways that these possibilities might affect others.
Jessica's interest, enthusiasm and energy levels are high. She will dismiss negatives, being eager to accomplish the task. At times, events can overwhelm her and she may find it almost impossible to say “No”, even when the demands are unreasonable. Jessica is energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, conscientious and persuasive. Exhibiting a tendency to become
concerned and hurt if her ideas are met with indifference or criticism, she may take conflict and rejection personally. She is inventive, independent and can be extremely perceptive of the potential contained within the views of others.
She tends to enjoy the company of like-minded people and may be somewhat less interested in her opposite types, perceiving them as drab, rather predictable and conventional. She flourishes in jobs where she can be of constant service or use her talent to persuade. She is an imaginative
and creative visionary who is a source of inspiration to most. Ingenious, enthusiastic and outgoing, Jessica has great personal charm and can be successful in a variety of roles. Her focus is on the immediate, resulting in a rather low tolerance for detailed procedures and routines.
She has an urge for lifelong learning and can shake off depression by simply finding projects that fascinate her. She possesses a natural gift for presentation. Her social gatherings are frequent and worth attending, particularly when they mark important events. She is always interested in seeing the possibilities, particularly in people, beyond the present moment. Jessica may generate more ideas, possibilities and plans in one day than others might manage in a month! She will take every possible opportunity to generate new relationships or to be with others.
At her best in jobs which deal with people and situations that require co-operative working, she dislikes impersonal tasks and work demanding factual accuracy, unless she can be free to include the people factor. Jessica displays fierce loyalty to and for people who report to her. Jessica enthusiastically and co-operatively joins in activities and can juggle several activities at once. Jessica is stimulated by challenges and often shows ingenuity in meeting them. She is strong on initiative and creativity, but may often be weak on the completion of projects.
